March 5 (Thursday) Pastor’s Post

Sullivan UMC—J. Michael Smith

Some very good news today:  Laura Elder’s son, caught in the Near East when war broke out last week, has made it out safely and is now in Germany.  For several days Laura did not know whether he was okay or not.  More than 11,000 flights have been cancelled in that part of the world in the last week, stranding hundreds of thousands of people.  We rejoice with Laura tonight at her good news.

Meeting notice:

The Church Council will have its monthly meeting next Tuesday at 6 p.m.  (Church Council meets the second Tuesday of every month.)  Official members of the Council include members of the Staff Parish Relations Committee,  members of the Nominating Committee, members of the Finance Committee, and members of the Trustees.  For those who cannot attend that night, the meeting will be recorded on Zoom and can be watched later.

Church Council meetings are open to everyone—to attend in person or check in by Zoom.  I’ll send the Zoom link out in my Tuesday Pastor’s Post and I’ll send the recording link out the next day.

So far, no items are on the agenda.  Please notify Bill Workman or myself if you have any items to bring to the Council.  I’ll publish the agenda in next Monday’s Pastor’s Post.
