March 24 (Tuesday) Pastor’s Post

Candy Orders

I just sent a robo-call out to let everyone know that IF they ordered Easter Egg candies from the church—the order is ready and can be picked up either tomorrow (Wednesday) between 9 and 1 OR Sunday—before either the early or late service.

IF YOU DID NOT ORDER ANY CANDY—PLEASE DISREGARD THE MESSAGE.  The call went to our robo call list and people who did not order were also called.

My apologies—I’m still trying to figure out how everything works around here.

The women report that they sold over 1000 candy pieces—with proceeds going to local and conference mission projects.   Thank you to all who helped.

Bible Study Coming

I will be teaching a 7 session Bible study on the Book of Revelation—a very different take than most Bible commentaries or TV/radio preachers.  Anyone is welcome to attend—especially people who feel inadequate about their Bible knowledge.  I will not put anyone on the spot with questions.  You may either pick a Tuesday daytime session or a Wednesday evening session.  Wednesday sessions will be at 6 p.m. on the following dates:  April 22, 29, May 6, June 3, 10, 17, 24.

If you are interested in a Tuesday daytime session, please contact me and we will pick times and dates once I know there is an interest.

Library Update (from Lois Shuman)

Several books have been donated recently to our church library.  They are shelved on the bookcase to the right as you enter the library.  Among these is Pastor Mike’s book entitled Teaching the Pastor to Curse, which I highly recommend!

I want to also remind you of The Reading Program, sponsored by the United Women of Faith.  The books for this program are located on the shelf on the far side of the library.  They are color-coded by category – Education for Mission, Spiritual Growth, Social Action, Nurturing for Community, and Leadership  Development.  The sheets to record your reading for 2026 are located on the top shelf where these books are shelved.  Anyone is encouraged to participate in this program.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Lois Shuman at loisshuman@gmail.com or call or text me at 217-246-3534.

I encourage you all to take advantage of our library!  We have a great selection of books, Bible studies, etc.  Keep on reading!
