GEORGIA OFFICIAL MAPS
Notes:
According to the Georgia DOT, “the first official travel map for the state of Georgia was published in 1938.” Reported earlier maps are probably internal publications not meant for public distribution. Some maps from the 1920s and early 1930s state “corrected monthly” at the top, so it is likely that monthly editions exist for these years.
The 1978-79 and 1979 maps have two sides which could be considered the front cover. Only one side is described here.
In the 1980s and 1990s, maps titled the “Official Tourism Map” and large sized copies of the Official State Highway Map have been produced and folded into the tourist magazines.
