April 21 (Tuesday) Pastor’s Post

Sullivan UMC—J. Michael Smith

We had a nice group at the Bible Study this morning (19).  We still have room for more if you want to join us next week.  The study will be repeated tomorrow night (Wednesday) at 6:15.

The power went off and on a the church a few times this afternoon.  Something for Bob Lane to do to keep him from causing trouble elsewhere.

The church council meets tonight and makes decisions on a revised building policy and office staff job descriptions.  I’ll let you know all their decisions in tomorrow’s post.

The United Women of Faith have been collecting money to have our kitchen and dining room floors redone and waxed—and they now have enough money in the cash box to get the work done.  PAT ON THE BACK.  The work will be done when we have a couple week days when no one is using the church building.

This week is National Allergy Awareness Week.  I didn’t need a calendar to remind me—as my wife has sent me back to the pharmacy three times to try and find a “cocktail” of relief that will work for her.  Speaking of my wife, she will be taking her annual trip to China, leaving this coming Sunday, and staying there until June 3.  She says her allergies only bother her in the U.S. So, in addition to some respiratory relief, she will also be able to spend time with her parents, sister, cousins, and life-long friends.  And get some genuine Chinese food. I’ll be taking her to O’Hare airport after the worship services on Sunday.
